Fred woke up and left rather early Sunday morning, but I stayed at the hotel until the 11:00 check-out time, then arranged to meet up with my former junior- and senior-year roommatel, Rich, for lunch.
In a strip mall near RHIT, there is a hole-in-the-wall Chinese carryout known as 1st Wok. They only take cash, the food is greasy enough that it'll probably take a few years off your life, but it tastes amazing and you can get an entire meal that'll fill you up for under five dollars. I've yet to find carryout Chinese as good anywhere else.
When we got there, though, apparently half of the RHIT alumni had the same idea; the place was packed to the walls (and likely well in excess of fire codes) with current and former students. No tables were available, so when we got our food, Rich and I retreated to the back of my truck in my parking lot.
You haven't had the true Terre Haute experience until you've had a Chinese food tailgate party in the middle of a strip mall parking lot.
After lunch, we parted ways, and I began the drive back home. Homecoming 2008 was complete.
