Lazy Saturday

Jon in the morning

Sometime prior, we'd managed to find some marshmallow food

Paul's friend Brian was doing a cross-country flying trip and just happened to be in the Seattle area while we were there. A few of us drove out to pick him up from a local airport.

The seventh Harry Potter book came out that day, and several people bought copies. In some cases, several people read the same copy simultaneously. There's probably some sort of anti-piracy law against doing that.

It soon came time for Ken to leave, so a few of us drove him down to the Seattle airport.

The Oreo, Hot Dogs, and Radio PSI

On the way back from the airport, Jon, Sabrina, and Paul had to pick up Reid, Camille, and Steve, who had been spending the day with relatives in the Everett area. After missing the road we needed to turn onto due to a downed street name sign, Jon was forced to perform one of his now-infamous illegal U-turns. As soon as we were facing the other direction, we noticed that the car which had been following us prior to the U-turn was a police car.

Luck was on our side, though, as the officer didn't seem to be bothered by our antics, and kept driving the way he was already going. We continued on in the other directon, finally managed to find the turn we missed, and picked up the others.

On the way back to the house, the six of us stopped at Albertson's to pick up some groceries. Paul picked up a pack of Double Stuf oreos.

When we got back, we found that Chaz was hosting his Saturday night Radio PSI show live from the convention. Due to the dial-up connection, we were unable to broadcast music, but we were perfectly capable of voice quality audio. Thus, by the time we got back, we found a number of people engaged in a rousing game of Apples to Apples on the radio.

Paul didn't participate in the already-started game, but he sat in the kitchen watching the game as he opened up the pack of Oreos. It didn't take long for the engineer in him to emerge as he absentmindedly began to construct an Oreo tower.

The completed cookie, made out of 14 Double Stuf cookies worth of icing. Thus, it is a 28-Stuf Oreo.

Looking at this cookie, Paul realizes that eating it is probably a bad idea

But he does it anyway

Yes, it was a bad idea

Paul compressed the two halves together to form a slightly smaller cookie. He did eventually finish it.

His mouth and throat were so sweet after the fact that he had to eat a lemon to get rid of the taste...

...and then some antacid tablets to get rid of the lemon-induced sour stomach

In the meantime, some other people decided to have fun with sausages.

Jon and Sabrina had an early flight Sunday morning, so they simply stayed up very late on Saturday night and left for the airport.

We finished up the Radio PSI broadcast with a little singing, which included Ericbound

Spaghetti Pie and 1000 Blank White Cards, Take Three

Jahnavi was trying to come up with something to do with our leftovers, and eventually decided to make a spaghetti pie. At the same time, a few of us started another game of 1000 Blank White Cards.

Chaz went to sleep before we were done, so someone played the Good Morning Sunshine (+1 Tiredness) card on him.
