Light.

Calsh still couldn't make sense of the sensation - his eyes were trying to tell him something, but it took him a few moments to realize that he needed to open them. Upon doing so, his eyes screamed in pain.

Too bright. He immediately shut his eyes, but the pain didn't go away, it just moved to the rest of his body. It had likely been there all along, he realized, but why hadn't he noticed?

For that matter, what am I doing here? Try as he might, he couldn't quite explain why he hurt so much, why he could barely move. Going back to sleep seemed like a good idea.

"Why aren't your sisters more like you?"

The infant laying on the bed didn't respond; it made no noise at all, in fact, which is what had earned it Heacha's compliment. The only indication Haven made that she'd heard her aunt was evidenced by her continuous, curious gaze focused upon Heacha's face.

Reunion VI

((18 November 2008))

A new section of Calsh's main story has been posted.

It wouldn't have made a difference if he'd come any earlier, Heacha had said. Although it was certainly possible that she was simply saying this to placate him, Calsh felt that his sister believed what she'd told him.

The messenger had come during pub. A quick entrance, a short whisper, and a rapid exit, and Calsh was now aware of a situation that he'd hoped would not happen — Rissh's condition had rapidly deteriorated. The medic that Farie had promised she'd contact had apparently examined Calsh's brother, and found the situation to be worse than they'd previously thought.

Calsh had hastily scribbled a message to those who had not been present, left the pub with a quick apology, and hired a gryphon to take him home to Menethil Harbor.
