Daari

21 August 2008

I ended up staying in the Exodar for a little longer than planned, on account of my friend Daari. She hadn't been here when I'd originally left, but dad told me he'd seen her around recently, so I figured it might be a good idea to stop by and officially say goodbye before heading out again.

I took my new cat with me (I still haven't decided on a name for her!) and went on a walk around the city in search of my friend. I found her near the forge and anvil, trying to grind something. Knowing her, whatever it was she was making probably was intended to make loud noises and sparks, if not outright explosions.

She was very into whatever it was she was crafting, too. She didn't respond when I approached her and called out her name; I ended up having to shout to get her attention. She finally did notice, though, and she was very excited to see me... I had to wait a few moments for her to calm down!

Anyway, I introduced her to my cat; the cat seemed to recognize that I regarded Daari as a friend, as she immediatly accepted Daari's attempts to pet her with some loud purring. I then let her know that I'd been planning on going back out, first to Bloodmyst, then from there wherever I felt like going. Well, it turns out that she was interested in going to Bloodmyst as well, and she seemed excited about what I'd already done, so I asked if she wanted to join up with me when I left again.

"We should!" she exclaimed. "Can we?"

Obviously I thought we could; I wouldn't have offered if I didn't! But I told her she should ask to make sure she could come along; after all, she's just a bit younger than me, and even though I'm (recently) an adult now, I still made sure my dad was okay with my trip. Actually, he'd probably be happy that I was bringing her along; he'd always taught me it was safer to travel in groups, and although I think I'm perfectly safe on my own, he still seems to be worrying a lot about me. But it'll be more fun with her along, too, even if I don't think anything's going to happen to me!

So she told me she'd ask, and gave me a gift of a [Crude Scope] she'd made and [Notched Shortsword of Power] she'd found. It's just like her to just find a sword, but I guess that's one of the reasons I like her! *laugh*

Anyway, this morning, she told me that she was allowed to come with me!

She says she's packed, but I'll give her another couple days anyway before I leave; I wouldn't be surprised to find out once we leave that she's forgotten something important, and hopefully by waiting a little while I can reduce the chances of that happening. I don't think my dad minds having me stay just a little bit longer, either.
