Letter to Heacha and Rissh

((22 April 2008))

Dear Heacha and Rissh,

How've you been recently? I know it's been a while since I've visited or written. Although it's no excuse, I have been busy.

Please find enclosed a bit of cash. Don't bother telling me it's too much; I know you can find a way to use it if you think hard enough.

Anyway, things have been going well enough for me recently. I've been doing a lot of work for the Shattered Sun Offensive, helping them reclaim the Isle of Quel'Danas. (Yes, Heacha, I'm sure you can tell me all about the island's history from memory from some book you've read. Maybe we'll save such a discussion for when I come back home.) Their cause... well, I suppose it seems good enough, but I must admit I'm mostly helping them for selfish reasons. They pay very well for assistance, well enough that I've been able to put the deliveries on hold for a bit. And supposedly they'll soon have a very knowledgeable gemcutter among their ranks, so I'm doing my best to get on their good side so that I might potentially be able to learn some new cuts when she arrives.

Beyond that, I've also made a few trips to Medivh's Tower - Karazhan - with the Gang. I don't rightly know what to think of the place yet. It's... well, saying "incredible" would be an understatement. And yet, even with as grand as the tower is, it just doesn't feel right. Not even counting the infestation of ghosts and beasts and even demons, the tower itself just seems... odd, as if too much magic was placed in it for its own good. That's not something I know much about, but I do know that the tower should not be larger on the inside than it appears on the outside, and yet it certainly seems that it is. Other things trouble me about the place as well, but I think again that it's something that's worthy of a face-to-face conversation, which I hope we'll have soon.

Being with the Gang has been great for me, though; they're good people. Just last night, for example, I spent some time in the Grim Guzzler (of the Blackrock Depths!) with someone from the Gang who reminded me very much of you, Heacha! You know how I'm always complaining that you make your speech more complex than it needs to be? She spoke in a very similar manner. Her name was Tricksy, and I think the both of you would like her, as you probably would like much of the Gang. It's too bad that I can't bring the two of you with me to the pub some night; I'm sure you'd love the experience.

Anyhow, you know that I'm no good at writing at length, so I should probably stop myself before this letter becomes any worse than it already is. I'll try to arrange things so I can spend some time with you two in the near future, but how near, I must admit I'm not certain.
