The Feast of Winter Veil is here. While the Exodar was decorated and participated in some festivities last year, it pales in comparison to the festivities in other parts of this world. I actively participated in festivities in two different locations: Ironforge, and a town on the southern coast of Northrend called Kamagua.
I wasn't expecting to go to Northrend so soon by any means, but to celebrate Winter's Veil, the Rose held a gathering up there, and I was invited. I could hardly say no after how pleasant they'd been to me, nor would I want to refuse anyway! With how much fun I had at the Hallow's End gathering, I would have to be crazy to miss it... my pretending to be crazy at Hallow's End notwithstanding!
That said, though, it did bring up my major complaint about Winter's Veil: the insistence that it be celebrated in the cold. I understand that it's supposed to be a celebration of winter, but there are plenty of places that are warm all year around, and I'd much rather be in those places than Northrend! Fortunately, the worst of it was getting there; once I actually arrived at Kamagua, I discovered that the Rose celebration was being held in an underground building with a fire in the middle. It was still drafty, but between the fire and the layers upon layers of clothes I'd put on, I managed to stay almost comfortable.
It was totally worth going, though! We had a trivia game (which I tied for third place on), stories, and a gift exchange. I brought nearly a dozen [Heavy Leather Ball]s to share, and I ended up coming home with a [Paper Zeppelin Kit] and some new armor! And now I'm back in Stormwind, so I can enjoy it where it's relatively warm. (*laugh*)
